Compassionate therapy for all of life’s twists and turns

Supporting children, teens, adults, and couples navigating trauma, grief, neurodivergence, anxiety, and life transitions.

Welcome, I am so glad you’re here…

In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed—by big decisions, parenting stress, complex relationships, or the quiet ache for something more. You might be longing for deeper meaning, emotional balance, or simply the space to breathe and be yourself. If life’s demands have left you feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

I offer trauma-informed therapy for a wide range of challenges, from feeling overwhelmed to navigating relationships and transitions, healing from the past, seeking greater self-understanding, or wanting to manage a specific diagnosis such as anxiety, OCD, ADHD, or depression. I work with individual adults, teens, couples and families who may be navigating anxiety, neurodivergence, relationship struggles, burnout, grief, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your unique experience.

Maybe you’ve tried therapy before and felt unseen or misunderstood. Therapy with me is different. I meet you exactly where you are—without judgment, pressure, or pretense. I listen closely to your story and work with you to uncover what healing, growth, or peace looks like on your terms. This isn’t one-size-fits-all therapy—it’s a space built for you.

Together, we’ll slow things down, reconnect with your values, and create a path forward that feels manageable, authentic, and aligned with who you really are. Whether you’re navigating a specific diagnosis, life stressor, or simply trying to find your footing again—I’m here to walk alongside you.

My mission is to empower you to develop the skills, knowledge, and support necessary to navigate life, no matter how difficult it can sometimes get.

When we work together, you will begin to recognize your strengths and build the tools you need to face life’s challenges with confidence. You can expect a warm, respectful, and authentic therapeutic relationship that’s tailored specifically to your needs. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your journey.

Hi, I’m Abbie

As a Supervisee in Clinical Social Work, I work with teens, adults, couples, and families who may be navigating life’s tougher moments—trauma, grief, parenting stress, substance use recovery, neurodivergence, and more. I bring lived experience, strong clinical training, and deep respect for the human person into every session. I believe therapy is more than symptom relief—it’s about reconnecting with oneself, deepening insight, and making values-aligned choices that support a more fulfilling life.

I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, including Autistic individuals and folks who are managing symptoms of OCD, anxiety, and ADHD. My approach is affirming, trauma-informed, and relational—I don’t see people as problems to be solved—instead, I focus on building a safe, trusting relationship that allows for self-awareness and growth.

My approach is flexible and responsive, and I draw from a range of evidence-based interventions tailored to client needs—including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I also offer Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) to support young children in processing their inner experiences through play. Clients often share that they feel deeply seen, heard, and supported in our work together.

At the heart of my practice is the belief that everyone, by virtue of their inherent human dignity, has the power to cultivate a life aligned with their needs, goals, and values. My mission is to support that process by offering compassionate, trauma-informed care rooted in curiosity, respect, and collaboration.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working in nonprofit fundraising after earning my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech. While that work was meaningful, I felt called to serve others more directly; that calling led me to pursue a Master of Social Work at George Mason University, where I concentrated on Children, Youth, and Families and was selected for the Community-Academic Partnerships in Behavioral Health (CAP-BH) fellowship program. This experience deepened my ability to provide holistic, trauma-informed, and team-based behavioral healthcare for underserved communities.

Today, I provide therapy to individuals and couples in person at Lindsey Hoskins & Associates in Sterling, VA, and virtually throughout Virginia. If you’re interested in working together—or connecting professionally—I’d love to hear from you!
